A completed Notice of Intended Marriage form should be lodged with an authorised marriage celebrant within 18 months of your proposed marriage and no later than one month prior to your wedding day.

The legal marriage procedure is very simple. Simply provide your birth certificate or passport for the celebrant to sight. If you’ve married before then the relevant documents of the ending of that marriage must be sighted by the celebrant as well.
